Iranian Scientists Acquire Technical Know-How of Making 3D Optical Microscope for Verification

TEHRAN (ANA)- Researchers at a knowledge-based company in Iran succeeded in producing microscopes whose output is 3D images used for verification or different experiments.

“The researchers of our company succeeded in designing a microscope that provides the user with a 3D image of the sample in addition to enjoying the efficiency of other microscopes,” Massoumeh Nasseri, the sales manager of the company, told ANA.

Noting that the microscope takes images of the sample at different zooms, she said, “These 3D images have different uses for verification and various experiments.”

“Banks, judiciary, research centers, universities, document registration offices and institutions that are dealing with testing can use this microscope,” Nasseri emphasized.

She added that no sample of the microscope has yet been made in Iran, stating that there are no foreign models either.

Nasseri had also last year announced manufacturing of an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) for imaging living biological samples.

“The new product of our company, an Atomic Force Microscope, is utilized for conducting studies on biological samples, living tissue and cells,” she said at the time.

“The microscope is used to examine the surface of biological samples, but its difference with other AFMs is that researchers are capable of taking images of the tissue of the sample in liquid environments,” the researcher added.

Nasseri explained that generally, in biological works, a series of tissues should be in a buffer environment so that the tissue remains intact, or in some cases, it is necessary to examine the tissues live, adding that this device allows us to take images of the tissues in the buffer environment and drying the sample is not necessary.

“In addition, this microscope provides researchers with the possibility of imaging the bottom surface of the sample. Once the sample is placed on the slide, it can also be imaged underneath, which is very important in biological studies,” she stated.
