“We were able to produce a 3D body scanner which is one of the high-tech technologies,” Vahid Ojaqi, one of the researchers at the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

Noting that the 3D scanner is among the sanctioned devices, he said, “We indigenized and made this product in Iran.”

“Arm and abdominal circumference, etc. can be measured by the device for the people who have visited specialists in the slimming, medical and sports fields, and changes in the body are determined by using the 3D scanner frequently,” Ojaqi said.

In a relevant development earlier this year, an Iranian knowledge-based company active in the field of medical equipment designed and produced a home-made sports testing device for the first time in the country.

The knowledge-based company named ‘Avicenna’ has been able to take a big step in designing and manufacturing medical equipment and knowledge-based products to help the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

“We have been able to produce and supply a number of products that include cardiac exercise testing system, cardiac rehabilitation system, holter monitoring of blood pressure, electrocardiograph device, electroshock and disposable chest electrode,” Maryam Qassemi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

"We are the first knowledge-based company in production of sports testing equipment in Iran, and at present, over 3,000 centers in the country have been supplied and are using these products,” she added.

Qassemi underlined that due to its high quality, the medical equipment can fully compete with foreign samples from European and American countries, adding, “We have been able to export this equipment to the Persian Gulf littoral states and a number of African and European countries.”
