Iranian Researchers Develop Non-Invasive Ventilator without Need for Intubation
“The ventilator device produced in our company has been presented to the market,” said Fo’ad Faramarzi Fard, the chairman of the board of directors of the knowledge-based company.
“This respiratory assist device is a type of ventilator that facilitates the patient's breathing in a non-invasive way without any need for intubation,” he added.
Faramarzi Fard underlined that the device uses only a mask to help patients with breathing problems, adding, “The device works by using pressured oxygen and with the pressure it puts on the lungs, it keeps the patient's airways open and the lungs will discharge.”
He explained that the main use of the device is in the treatment of diseases which cause breathing disorders during sleep and other lung diseases, adding that patients can easily use it at home.
In a relevant development last year, a technological unit at Islamic Azad University’s Najafabad branch in Central Iran manufactured a smart and portable oxygenator system which can be used at homes and offices.
“A smart portable oxygenator for home appliances which also includes auxiliary and consumable parts was made in the technology core of Oxin Yar Teb company,” Omid Pour Ahmad, a student at Islamic Azad University’s Najafabad branch, told ANA.
“Given the spread of coronavirus disease in the last few years, exacerbation of air pollution in big cities and the subsequent increase in respiratory diseases, the need for a specialized center and production of auxiliary parts in the country was felt seriously,” he added.
Pour Ahmad noted that activities of Oxin Yar Teb company are focused on the industrial field and training for medical engineering, electronics and robotics areas, and said, “After specialized studies and research on the market, production of smart portable oxygenator machine for home appliances and the related auxiliary and consumable parts was put on the agenda.”
