Mohammad Mahdi Khodami is the young Iranian researcher and inventor who has designed and developed a "portable folding bidirectional scaffold" with the aim of transforming traditional construction into a mechanized and modern one.

The potable folding scaffold allows the user to make changes in both lengthwise and heightwise directions as needed, the researcher told ANA news agency, which specializes in covering advances in science, technology and innovation and also introduces achievements by technological units, knowledge-based companies, and innovators and technicians.

Khodami said that his invention enjoys different usages in other industries other than construction where that user has to go from one side to the other side.

The young inventor who has is from Eqlid County in the Southern province of Fars and is a MS student in Aerospace Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, further called on the relevant private and governmental institutions and organizations to provide more financial supports to young experts and inventors in order to help them contribute more to the society.

“I made the innovation after conducting research and talking to people who are working in construction industry to get familiar with their needs for such a device,” he went on to say.

He said that manufacturing the prototype of the device cost 120,000 million rials (Iranian currency), which in case of mass production and the stability of market, the cost will be lower.

He further noted that he had not seen such a device like his in other countries.
