A remote terminal unit is a multipurpose device used for remote monitoring and control of various devices and systems for automation.

The oil and gas industry is of strategic importance for the country, Ahmad Rashid, a co-founder of the company, underscored.

“In recent years, many knowledge-based companies have become active in this field,” he said, adding that the company tried to focus on the automation of systems and the production of electronic parts by creating a research and development unit.

“This system is usually used to measure, control and manage remote stations,” Rashid went on to say.

It is often installed in power plants, oil and gas industries, water and sewage tanks, and subways to increase the productivity of the entire system, he explained.

By collecting data from the desired locations and sending them to the control center, the RTU system detects possible failures in these locations, Rashid added.

“In fact, it can be said that the system plays an essential role in reducing harms and risks,” he underlined.

Information is received and collected intermittently in this system from a work point and then sent to the defined control center at once, he noted.

The Iran-made product is sold at a price of around $800, while a similar foreign sample from Southeast Asia costs $1,200, he concluded.
