Iran's Sharif University Cleanroom Unveiled
“MNFC-CR cleanroom of Sharif University of Technology enjoys two different deaprtments of bio and microelectronics. The cleanroom has been built with the aim of creating a serious transformation in the research and microelectronics section to improve the capabilities and sufficient facilities for manufacturing of micro and nanometer devices and equipment in a clean environment in 1,000 and 10,000 classes," the report by the public relations department of Sharif University said.
"Development of advanced technologies in the field of microelectronics, new sensors and actuators, microscale biological systems and biotechnological products has been put into operation,” the report added.
the facility is available for all students, researchers, research centers and related industries from across the country.
Services in the microelectronics section include deposition by sputtering, thermal evaporation and electron beam, wet and dry removal, photolithography and soft lithography.
The focus of the activities of Sharif University of Technology's biological cleanroom is to design and carry out the research and development of products based on the university's regenerative medicine before the desired product enters the pharmaceutical market, and its mission is to create a reliable and efficient bridge between the laboratory and preclinical stages of this type.
This center has provided an environment for the production of cellular products and tissue engineering for the implementation of academic clinical studies to treat diseases and provide knowledge in the field of supplying cellular products.
Sharif University of Technology’s cleanroom has two main sections "Human Cell Isolation and Cultivation Room" and "Synthetic and Biological Polymer Manufacturing Room". In the cell cultivation cleanroom, adult and extra-embryonic mesenchymal stem cells, including adipose and reproductive tissue, skin cells, including fibroblast cells, keratinocytes, and melanocytes, etc., are isolated, cultured and kept as a cell bank.
Currently, the activity of this complex has started with the construction of restorative scaffolds for patients with burns, and the production of detection kits, biological dressings, etc.
The report further concluded that the biological cleanroom of Sharif University of Technology is ready to provide a clean environment to various specialists and teams outside the university campus who are designing and conducting clinical trials and producing cellular and tissue engineering products.
