Official: Iran Exports Biotechnological Products to 17 World States
“700 knowledge-based companies are active in the biotechnological field and several of them have been able to export their products to 17 foreign states,” said Mostafa Qaneyee, the secretary of the Biotechnology Development Headquarters affiliated to Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.
He added that at present, Iran's name atops the list of the World Health Organization (WHO) of vaccine producing countries with the capability of developing six technologies for the production of coronavirus vaccine.
Qaneyee also referred to the efforts made by the Iranian scientists to develop the Arian chicken crossbreed, and said, “At present, Arian chicken genes are imported; therefore, we are trying to produce these chickens in the country with the domestic genes.”
“The mostly-exported products in the biological field are the pharmaceutical products and in general, 60 million dollars worth of biological products have been exported,” he noted.
Elaborating on the latest developments in the field of the mRNA vaccine, Qaneyee said, “This vaccine has received clinical approval and will soon enter the clinical trial phase.”
According to him, poisons, bacteria and botox are among the products that Iran has achieved their production technology and even exported them.
Iran has taken wide strides in science and technology, particularly in medical and medicinal fields, in recent years.
