Jordan Tourism Income Soars in 11 Months
The CBJ attributed this increase to a 2.4 million growth in tourist arrivals, which brought the total of visitors to the Kingdom to 4.6 million in the 11-month period, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
In the month of November, Jordan’s tourism income rose by JD121.9 million over the same month in 2021 — a 50.3 percent increase — to reach JD364.5 million.
The increase is similarly attributed to a rise in inbound tourist numbers in November, when 148,000 more people arrived than in the same month of the previous year, bringing the total to 450,700, the highest number of tourists recorded for any November since 2013.
Data also showed a JD11.4 million increase in spending by Jordanian tourists abroad during November 2022, 17.2 percent more than in the same month 2021. With 17.1 percent more Jordanians travelling abroad, the expenditure reached JD77.8 million this November.
