Jordan Mulling Implementation of Project to Improve Efficiency of Renewable Energy
General Director of the Cities and Villages Development Bank Osama Al-Azam, and Director of the Economic Development and Sustainable Energy Project in Jordan Mohammad Ramadan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at providing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions based on sustainable development programs experience, Jordan News reported.
The mentioned MoU reinforces the bank's role in realizing the government for the development of renewable energy projects within the municipal sector through the bank's implementation of the project Energy Efficiency in Municipalities (MEEP), funded by the European Investment Bank with 45 million euro, aimed at improving the efficiency of the use of renewable energy and drawing on the experience and expertise of the project “Economic Development and Sustainable Energy in Jordan” (SEED), funded by the Canadian government.
The goal is to develop communities by raising awareness and applying energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions.
The MoU provides for the transfer of expertise and knowledge within the project, and for the review of lessons learned from project implementation in the technical, contractual and environmental areas.
