Iran to Launch Infrastructure for Testing Electric Cars
Shahriyar Zeini, an official with the Vice Presidency, told reporters that since establishing such infrastructures requires huge investments, utilizing the existing infrastructures is on the agenda.
For the time being, R100 (battery safety testing) and R10 tests are necessary, he said, adding that R100 tests are underway.
The R100 is intended to ensure the safe operation of rechargeable batteries under anticipated operating conditions and to provide a greater level of safety.
Meanwhile, R10 tests cover the requirements regarding the immunity to radiated and conducted disturbances related to direct control of the vehicle, the driver, and passengers.
Zeini pointed out that it is possible to implement five tests out of seven tests in the country, and for two tests, we do not have the testing infrastructure, which includes "mechanical shock" and "vibration test".
Referring to R10 tests, he said R10 tests are not limited to static tests, but also include dynamic tests.
Some 300 billion rials (about $850,000) are needed to establish the infrastructure for these two tests in the country, he noted.
“If we manage to receive the necessary fund, we will set up the infrastructure for these tests in the country, otherwise we have to send samples abroad.”
In case we are able to provide the required network for these tests, it is hoped that the tests related to R100 can be fully implemented in the country, Zeini added.
