Yemen warns Arab states: Do not aid US-Israeli aggression on Iran
Mahdi al-Mashat, chairman of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said Wednesday that Yemen stands firmly with Iran, emphasizing that the country has the right to respond to aggression and confront the regimes responsible for the attacks. He described the assault on Iran as part of a “Zionist” agenda driven by regional ambitions, urging Arab and Islamic nations not to become tools in its implementation.
The US-Israeli offensive against Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that killed senior Iranian officials and commanders. In response, Iran has conducted nearly daily missile and drone operations against Israeli-occupied territories and US military bases across the region.
Separately, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement praised Iran’s retaliatory strikes, framing the US-Israeli attacks as an attempt to strengthen Israel’s dominance in the region. The movement stressed that Iran’s actions defend the region, the Islamic Ummah, and sacred sites against aggressors.
Ansarullah also confirmed its readiness to enter the conflict if necessary, including exerting control over the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait to apply pressure on the aggressors. A source cited by Tasnim News Agency noted that the group has been on full alert since the initial attacks in February and remains prepared to act in coordination with Iran’s efforts.
