‘Creative, Positive Ideas’ Shared in Geneva Talks, Says Omani FM
In a post on his X account Thursday, al-Busaidi said discussions between the two delegations had led to the exchange of constructive proposals before both sides paused for a scheduled break. “We’ve been exchanging creative and positive ideas in Geneva today,” he wrote, expressing hope that negotiations would resume later in the day with further progress.
The Geneva meeting marks the third round of indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington, mediated by Oman. Previous rounds were held on February 6 in Muscat and February 17 in Geneva, also facilitated by al-Busaidi.
The renewed diplomatic effort comes amid heightened tensions, as the United States has increased its military presence in areas near Iran and warned of possible military action if negotiations fail to yield an agreement.
Ahead of the talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi struck an optimistic tone. Speaking to India Today before departing Tehran on Wednesday, he said that “a fair, balanced, and equitable deal is achievable.”
