In a statement issued on Monday, the signatories said their declaration came amid repeated remarks by Trump threatening military action against Iran and calling for regime change following unrest in the country that Iranian officials have linked to foreign actors.

The cultural and media figures praised Iran’s Leader and the Iranian nation, describing them as a central barrier to what they called destabilizing actions by the US president, whom they accused of targeting the Islamic Republic through threats, sanctions, and verbal attacks.

They argued that Trump’s confrontational language toward Ayatollah Khamenei and the Iranian people has fueled widespread anger, extending beyond Iran to Muslim communities worldwide.

According to the statement, this reaction reflects a broader sense of unity and resistance against what they characterized as efforts to provoke conflict, destruction, and division. Emphasizing the role of national cohesion, the signatories said unity around the Leader remains a cornerstone of Iran’s national identity.

They added that such solidarity had previously contributed to Iran’s success in confronting external pressures and would continue to play a decisive role in facing ongoing challenges involving the United States. The statement also recalled Iran’s past confrontations with Washington, referencing retaliatory strikes on US military facilities in the region.

The signatories pointed to the 2020 missile attack on the Ain al-Asad base in Iraq following the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, as well as the 2025 strike on the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, which they described as a response to US-Israeli aggression.

Concluding their message, the cultural and media figures condemned what they termed disrespectful remarks by Trump toward Iran’s Leader and urged him to remember what they described as Iran’s capacity to respond decisively to threats against its sovereignty.
