Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zare'pour pointed to the serious strategy of his ministry to protect children in the cyberspace and underscored that with the launch of "456" internet service for children and teenagers, Iranian families nationwide are capable of managing their children's access to internet in the cyberspace.
Zare'pour announced the achievement in the fourth meeting of the strategic committee of "the Document for the Protection of Children in Cyberspace".
The meeting, which was hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, was attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace Seyyed Abdulhassan Firouzabadi, and a group of parliament members.
The meeting was uniquely held for unveiling the "456" service of safe internet for children and teenagers.
Zare'pour called the newly-unveiled service as a turning point in the country's history, adding, "The efforts made to protect children in cyberspace, was actually based on the Supreme Council of Cyberspace's resolution that was approved last year."
"With the launch of the "456" service of safe internet for children and teenagers, three possibilities will be provided for the country's families in order to protect their children in cyberspace. The first one is dialing *456, the second one, through the website https://456.ir and the third one via the 456 application. Then, it will be possible for the families to define and manage how their children and teenagers access to internet according to their age and conditions. In the meantime, four levels of access have been managed in the form of four colors of green, white, yellow, and orange. Currently, the green color (for children under 5 years old) is activated in the operators, and other access levels will be defined soon," Zare'pour went on to say.
