Iranian Knowledge-Based Firms Manage to Decrease Production Costs of Some Medicines Up to 95%

TEHRAN (ANA)- Head of the Center for Strategic Technologies of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Saeed Sarkar announced that the country’s knowledge-based companies have been able to produce drugs for the patients at a very lower cost of the global market.

“Iranian knowledge-based companies were able to reduce the price of some vital medicines by 95%. This achievement has brought justice in health to all walks of society,” Sarkar told ANA on the sidelines of the 16th International Nano Technology Exhibition.

“Some medicine have had a 95% price reduction and are now available to all people,” he added.

Elsewhere, Sarkar referred to Iran’s progress in the field of nanotechnology, and said, “Over 1,800 products have been made in this field so far.”

The 16th International Nano Technology Exhibition and the First Exhibition of Advanced Technologies of Iran was inaugurated at the Tehran International Fairground.

Running from November 2 to 5, the Nano Exhibition featured over 150 innovative companies showcasing advancements in nanotechnology. Meanwhile, the Exhibition of Advanced Technologies hosted 80 knowledge-based and technological products, attracting visitors, particularly students, researchers, and investors.
