Tehran to Host Int’l Iranology Conference

TEHRAN (ANA)- An international Iranology conference with the participation of nearly 50 Iranologists from 21 countries is slated to be held in Tehran in late November.

“From November 15 to 19, we are witnessing a scientific and cultural event in Iran, which will be held with the participation of nearly 50 Iranologists from 21 countries, including Iraq, Tunisia, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, India, Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Italy, and Greece. A number of countries that are unable to attend can also participate in this event online,” said Mohammad Ali Rabbani, the director-general of Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization.

Noting that the specialized sessions of the conference have been planned based on the priority of the topics that have attracted the attention of universities, he explained that the Iranology Foundation of Iran is in charge of diplomacy and Iranology, the University of Tehran is in charge of theoretical and epistemological discussions in the field of Iranology, Shiraz University is in charge of literature and Hafez, Allameh Tabatabaei University is in charge of Iranology and new technologies, Beheshti University is in charge of spiritual heritage, specially water, and the University of Science and Culture is in charge of Iranology and tourism.

Also, Mahmoud Jafari Dahaqi, the president of the Iranology Association, announced that a permanent secretariat will be established for the conference so that communication with non-Iranian and domestic researchers can continue and we can take more important steps in this field in the future.

The Iranology Foundation is a scientific and research institute in Iran and Iranian studies is the main field of its activities. The Foundation's studies and researches are all topics and issues related to various manifestations of Iranian culture and civilization. The institute was established in 1997 under the supervision of the Presidential Administration of Iran.
