Official: Iran Exports over 183 Million Dollars of Nano Products in One Year
“By the end of last year, 1,735 nano products were commercialized by 401 companies active in this field and received nanoscale certificates from the Evaluation and Supervision Unit of the INIC,” Ahmadvand said.
“The total sales market for these products last year was close to 973 trillion rials, which shows a 57 percent increase compared to the previous year. Also, over 10% of this market, equivalent to $183 million, belongs to the exports of these products,” he added.
Ahmadvand noted that in the past four years, the market for the home-made nano products has increased from 200 trillion rials to about 1 trillion rials, which shows an average annual growth of 72% during this period.
He stated that the three technologies of nanocomposite, nanocoating, and nanocatalyst have the largest share in the production of Iran-made nano products, and added, “In the oil and petrochemical sectors, nanocatalysts account for more than 90% of the market. Sales of these catalysts have increased by over 80% compared to last year and account for more than 13% of the total nano market last year.”
Iran had exported $69 million worth of nanotechnology products on March 21, 2022, to March 21, 2023.
The total value of Iran’s nanotechnology products in the past year stood at $1.62 billion, of which about 91 percent was sold in domestic markets and only nine percent was exported.
Also, the sales of nano-based products in Iran in 2023 increased by 104 percent compared to 2022.
The nano-coating technologies, nano-composites, and nano-catalysts accounted for the major share of the domestic market.
