Iran Hosts Meeting of BRICS Member States' Spatial Information Technologies Meeting
The fourth BRICS Working Group meeting on spatial information technologies was held in this center with the presence of 9 BRICS member states, Ahadzadeh said.
He noted that Iran was entrusted with hosting the fourth BRICS Working Group Meeting on Spatial Information Technologies and Their Applications in 2025.
“Several measures have been adopted to attract participation and create convergence among organizations and universities responsible for this field in Iran, and as a result, the Iranian Mapping Organization has been introduced to the BRICS parties as a specialized focal point for this issue,” Ahadzadeh said.
“The first day of the BRICS meeting was dedicated to presenting the achievements and capabilities of the member states in the field of spatial information technologies,” he explained.
Ahadzadeh also stated that on the second day of the meeting, representatives of the countries presented their proposals for defining joint cooperation projects, adding that at the end of the meeting, the reference document for joint cooperation between the members was finalized with the agreement of the parties.
The BRICS is a forum for cooperation among a group of leading emerging economies. It includes the 10 countries of Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russian Federation, South Africa, and the UAE.
