The project, carried out by Hamed Barati, Alireza Jabbari, Mohammad Asgari, and Yasser Khademi, led to the production of a sample of vibration sensors that can be widely used in various industries, including robotics, structural engineering, medicine, veterinary medicine, and even smartphones.

According to the researchers of the project, manufacturing of vibration sensors has so far been available only to a few specific countries due to the need for highly advanced and costly equipment in the micro and nano fields. The sensor designed in the project can be produced completely domestically, relying on the domestic know-how and without dependence on foreign equipment.

Unlike conventional sensors that use piezoelectric or capacitive technology, the sensor is made by combining micro and optical technology. Another unique feature of this sensor is the use of a metal structure on a transparent substrate instead of silicon, which has led to a significant reduction in production costs, increased accuracy and reduced operational noise.

Among the technical features of this sensor are its very small size, the ability to work in harsh conditions, detection of motion, force and vibration in two directions, and a wider operating range than similar models.

The sensor can be applied in a wide range of industries. In structural engineering, it can be used to monitor the health and vibration of buildings, and in the field of medicine and rehabilitation, it can be effective in monitoring patient movements and designing treatment programs. It also has wide applications in areas like sports, robotics, smartphones, navigation systems and auto-making industry.

A vibration sensor is a device that measures the amount and frequency of vibration in a given system, machine, or piece of equipment.
