Iran Breaks US, Australian Monopoly in Producing Smart Water Valves
Ab Rah Sanat Karoon Company is manufacturing smart water valves for different industries, breaking the monopoly of the US and Australian companies.
Mohammad Sadeq Diahossein, the managing director of the company, told ANA that smart water valves are potentially a solution for things like leak detection, increasing the efficiency of water supply networks, increasing energy efficiency, improving water quality, and more.
Smart water technology provides a platform for more efficient use of emerging technologies and more informed decisions, he noted.
Only two companies in the world made this product and we are the third company, he said, adding, “We are the only company in West Asia that produces this equipment. An Australian company and an American company were manufacturing the product and we joined them five years ago by producing the smart automation valves.”
The managing director of Ab Rah Sanat Karoon Company pointed out that there is no rival for the company inside the country. The product is sold in Iran at 2.5 billion rials (about $8,500), while its global price is 50 billion rials (about $165,000).
However, foreign producers are practically not considered competitors because of the huge price difference they have with us, Diahossein said.
