Tehranchi, Iranian Researcher Who Helped Advancement of Magnetic, Nano Technologies

TEHRAN (ANA)- Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, a physics professor and prominent Iranian researcher in the fields of solid-state physics, nanotechnology, magnetism, and magnetic sensors, was assassinated in an Israeli attack in Tehran on Friday morning.
News ID : 9189

With years of research experience in various fields of materials physics, Tehranchi played an important role in the development of fundamental and applied knowledge in areas related to advanced materials and modern technologies.

As one of the prominent professors of the country's higher education system, Tehranchi has played an important role in the development of fundamental and applied knowledge in areas related to advanced materials and modern technologies.

Magnetism and spin electronics, the main focus of Dr. Tehranchi's research

One of Dr. Tehranchi's main scientific concerns was the study of the magnetic and electronic properties of materials at the nanoscale. In numerous articles, he studied the magnetic behavior of nanostructures such as FeO nanoparticles, MoS thin layers, graphene, and silicon.

He also conducted in-depth research in the field of spin magnetism and the Edelstein and Pseudo-Edelstein Effects. These effects play a key role in the development of future technologies like spintronics, and Tehranchi contributed significantly to the expansion of domestic knowledge in this field by studying them in various materials.

Magneto-optics and its applications in medical diagnostics

Another field in which Tehranchi was significantly active was magneto-optics and its applications in sensitive magnetic sensors. He played a role in the development of Pump-Probe magnetometers, highly accurate devices capable of measuring very weak magnetic fields.

One of the practical applications of this technology was the non-invasive detection of myocardial ischemia (reduced blood flow to the heart muscle), which was published in a scientific article title as ‘Myocardial Ischemia Detection by a Sensitive Pump-Probe Atomic Magnetometer’ by Tehranchi and his colleagues.

Computational spectroscopy and physics, theoretical and experimental approaches

Tehranchi also had activities in the field of UV-Vis spectroscopy and ellipsometry that led to a better understanding of the optical properties of magnetic materials and semiconductors. He also conducted research in the field of computational simulation of materials and computational physics.

This theoretical approach, especially in the study of electronic and magnetic interactions in modern materials, played an important role in the development of future technologies.

Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi was one of the prominent scientific figures in Iran who, by combining fundamental and applied knowledge, contributed to the development of modern technologies in the fields of materials physics, nanotechnology, and magnetism. The death of this prominent scientist is a heavy blow to the scientific and research community of the country.
