640 Int’l MBBS Students Studying at Tehran University of Medical Sciences

“Nearly 95% of international general medicine students changed their path from MD to MBBS through a process, and the first MBBS students of the university graduated three years ago,” Aminian said.
Noting that the main goal of attracting undergraduate students is to develop medical education and international cooperation, he said that the Persian language is taught to them from the moment they arrive.
Aminian noted that nearly 640 international MBBS students have been accepted in the university, adding, “These students, 56 percent of whom are girls, are from 28 countries around the world and 253 of them have graduated so far.
Aminian also said that students from India, Pakistan, and Iraq have been the main applicants for the MBBS course at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in recent years.
Reports said in 2022 that 43 faculty members and professors of the University of Tehran are among the top 1 percent of the most-cited scientists in the world.

Among these 43 faculty members of University of Tehran, 54% have worked on engineering issues, nearly 20% have made research on multidisciplinary subjects, 12% on agricultural sciences, 7% on chemistry and the rest on biology, biochemistry, materials science and microbiology.
