University of Tehran’s Science, Technology Park Launches Innovation Zone in Capital's Central Part

“University of Tehran’s Innovation Zone will operate under the guidance and management of the University’s Science and Technology Park,” Assadi said.

“Creating the necessary platforms for sustainable economic development and prosperity for the society, moving towards the fourth-generation universities, strengthening the technology and innovation ecosystem of Tehran province, becoming the center of innovation, technology, globalization and economic development in the region, turning the Zone into a place for residents to interact and creation of specialized scientific and technological clusters are among the important goals of establishment of the Innovation Zone,” he added.

Noting that University of Tehran’s Innovation Zone helps to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the city and ultimately the country by establishing effective communication between facilities and talents, Assadi said, “In this zone, companies and startups not only benefit from the science produced by universities, but also they can access the Iranian university graduates easily, and with this two-way communication, they can play an effective role in development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.”

University of Tehran Science and Technology Park (UTSTP) was established on March 14, 2006, to support university-industry collaborations resulting in technology-based economic development and knowledge advancement.
