“The product prevents the car from moving while the CNG gas nozzle is attached to the car when refueling,” Mohsen Safari, a graduate of electrical engineering from Islamic Azad University’ Eqlid branch, told ANA.

He added that the aim of his invention is to prevent loss of lives and properties, explaining that while the car is refueled at a gas station and the CNG gas nozzle is attached to the car, the invented part prevents the car from starting and moving by using an infrared system.

“It has been observed many times that the operator or driver have forgotten to detach the CNG gas nozzle from the car after refueling and the car’s moving has caused accidents and irreparable loss of lives and properties which can be prevented by installing this part on the car,” Safari said.

The damage caused by CNG fires varies, ranging from minor damage to the destruction of the installations and injuries to deaths in humans. Mitigation is action taken to reduce the impact of an unwanted event before the event occurs, through mitigation efforts that can be carried out through the control of hazard sources and risk-based exposed objects.

Safe risk value changes can be achieved after applying appropriate mitigation techniques.
