Iran-Made NC Angioplasty Balloon Produced
The main feature of these balloons is their resistance to deformation at high pressures, which allows doctors to open the blockage more accurately. This device is used in cases where high pressure is needed to open the stenosis or to further dilate it after stent placement.
In addition to meeting domestic needs, the production of this knowledge-based product can prevent up to 50% of the outflow of foreign exchange for importing this product.
The knowledge-based company is also active in the field of buying and selling orthopedic implants, medical equipment, and devices based on modern technologies.
In a relevant development in 2023, an Iranian knowledge-based company stationed at the Science and Technology Park of the University of Science and Technology (IUST) had also managed to produce an ‘inflator syringe’ with application in angioplasty.
“We, in cooperation with a number of graduates of the University of Science and Technology, were able to gain self-sufficiency in producing medical equipment, specially the angiography products, and we were introduced as the first manufacturer of coronary angioplasty inflators in Iran by conducting research and production,” Mohammad-Hossein Darouyee, the managing director of Raybod Medical Technologies company, told ANA.
He added that the product enjoys the same quality as its foreign counterparts, noting that at present, it is not 100% Iran-made and a microchip used in the device is imported from foreign states.
“Relying on the science and knowledge of the young Iranian scientists, this problem will be resolved soon and we will gain complete self-sufficiency in production of the syringe,” Darouyee said.
