Iran’s Kish Island to Host AI Vision 2025 Exhibition Early September

The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Kish International Conference and Exhibition Center and is supported by the National Park of Soft Sciences, Technologies and Cultural Industries of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research.

Different capabilities of the knowledge-based, creative, and technological companies in various fields of artificial intelligence is due to be showcased in the exhibition with goals like popularizing and promoting concepts related to artificial intelligence, transforming Kish Island into the main center for the commercialization of artificial intelligence in Central Asia and Eurasia, transferring new technologies to the country's innovation ecosystem, motivating youth, and developing the domestic market and efficient management in the fields of artificial intelligence.

Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Hossein Afshin announced in February that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) has passed the theoretical stage and now is in the operational phase.

“The AI has been developed in Iran since 2010. This technology was first introduced in self-driving cars, medical guidance systems and traffic management, and today, having passed the theoretical stage, it has entered industrial and operational applications,” Afshin said.

Noting that artificial intelligence is no longer a purely academic subject, he said, “There was a time when only theoretical discussions were raised about artificial intelligence, but today the country is facing a new generation of operational projects in the fields of oil, health, smart cities and industry.”

“This change of direction is the result of targeted investment and the serious entry of creative engineers into this field,” Afshin said.
