The car research center of the university was established in 2010, Mohammad Mehdi Kheirikhah, a faculty member of the university told ANA.

The first product is an electric motorcycle that was designed and built in 2014, he said, adding that designing, assembling, and testing the product were carried out completely by professors and students in the university.

The motorcycle has a maximum speed of 180 km per hour and can cover a distance of about 250 km with a single charge, he noted.

The product aims to help reduce environmental pollution in cities. It also aims to transfer the technology of making electric motorcycles.

Referring to the second product, he said, “The second product is a hybrid car. Gasoline engines were converted into hybrid engines operating with gasoline and electricity. Thus, it reduces the consumption of gasoline by 30 percent and curbs environmental pollution.”

The third product is a solar car. This car works with the energy of the sun without any need for electricity or gasoline.

He went on to say that the car body is made of carbon fiber composite material. The total weight of the car is 250 kg and it reaches a maximum speed of 110 km/h.

This car has participated in two international competitions, the first was held in 2011 in Australia. The car covered a very long distance of nearly 1,500 kilometers and was ranked first among cars made in West Asia and ranked seventeenth in the world.

We also participated in an event in the US and won first place in terms of speed and became the 8th in the world overall. This car was the only car from Asia that participated in the competitions.

The Asreh Omid Event was held with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams, and startups.
