The new insulation can be used instead of fabrics soaked in bitumen that is used traditionally in the construction industry.

Roham Faraj Mohammadi, the inventor, told ANA that with 11 years of professional experience, his activities are focused on insulating buildings and facilities, notably in petrochemical complexes.

“After working for a while, I felt that there is a need for a special material that can be used in different places and has high heat resistance.”

Materials that can provide thermal and moisture insulation and acid resistance for use in industry, petrochemicals, and distillation towers are imported at a high cost, he pointed out.

“After several years of research, I found an insulator and applied for a patent. In terms of formulation, there was nothing like this in Iran.”

These polymers are not hydrophilic at all and cannot be dissolved or mixed with water. But I created conditions for it to be combined with water-based resins, he explained.

So, like air dry resins, paints, or any other adhesives, it tends to be dry when exposed to air.

Over the past year, in order to realize a resilient and knowledge-based economy, the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology has implemented a series of activities to further develop the ecosystem of innovation and technology in the country.

Over 7,000 knowledge-based and 1,600 creative companies have so far been registered and started operations.
