Iran's IAU Researcher Develops Device to Measure Fertilizer Ratio in Fields
Participating at the Asreh Omid Event held by the Islamic Azad University in Tehran’s grand Mosalla in late May, Seyyed Hossein Alavi Rad hailed the intensified efforts by the Islamic Azad University, especially since 2021 in supporting entrepreneurs and useful project to boost the country’s economy.
He added that with the help of a friend of his started a research center in the Islamic Azad University, Langroud Branch, to help tackling the problems in Langroud region in Gilan province first and then in the other regions in the country.
“The project to determine potassium and urea fertilizers ratio in agricultural fields is one of the projects carried out at the research center,” the computer programming professor of Langroud Islamic Azad University said, adding that the project was implemented in farmland in Langroud and good results were achieved.
“The suitable geography of Langroud county, the location of the university, which is surrounded by paddy fields, required the engineers and researchers of this university to solve the problems of the local farmers,” he added.
"In recent years, we have seen the problems of farmers in Gilan province including lack of water for the farmers who grow rice as well as the farmers who have witnessed the return of their products such as kiwi from other countries because of the unbalanced use of fertilizers," The researcher said.
He added that using an interdisciplinary approach by forming active and research teams in different fields of electricity, chemistry, mechanics, and agriculture, the problems of fields can be solved, for this purpose, making of an electric device to measure the potassium and urea fertilizers ratio in fields has been studied and the project is at its final stages.
As regards Asreh Omid Event, the researcher reminded that it coincided with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Azad University. He further said that the event shows high maturity level of the university. “This university organizes an event called the Asreh Omid (Age of Hope) to showcase what it has been achieved over these 40 years.”
Alavi Rad further voiced hope that with the participation of hundreds of companies, technological cores, startups in this huge event, part of the real needs of society will be met in a scientific and real way.
The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
