Iran’s NIORDC Reports Hike in Gasoline Production

TEHRAN (ANA)- The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), in a report, said that daily gasoline production in the country has been increased by more than 10 million liters during in the last four months of last year.

“The average daily production of motor gasoline in the first five months of the year (March 20 to Aug. 21, 2024) was 97.5 million liters. This figure rose to an average of 107 million liters per day by the ending days of last December,” the report said. 

The increase in daily gasoline production was distributed as follows: Isfahan Refinery (1.8 million liters), Imam Khomeini Shazand Refinery (3.3 million liters), Bandar Abbas Refinery (0.8 million liters), Tabriz Refinery (0.3 million liters), Tehran Refinery (0.5 million liters), Persian Gulf Star Refinery (3.2 million liters), Shiraz Refinery (0.1 million liters), and Lavan Oil Refinery (0.1 million liters).

In a relevant development in October, Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), announced that the country’s gasoline production will increase to 129 million liters per day by the end of the 7th Development Plan (2023-2027).

Azimifar said that the company will strive to achieve this goal by focusing on increasing the production of high-quality petroleum products in existing refineries and completing refinery projects with more physical progress.

He added that in the first seven months of this Iranian calendar year, which began on 20 March 2024, the volume of liquid fuel delivered to power plants increased by 38 percent compared to the same period last year.
