Iranian Company Produces 350 Types of Chemical Materials to Meet Needs of Laboratories
“At present, we have produced nearly 350 chemicals and with this achievement we were able to meet nearly 50% of the needs of the domestic market,” Amir Malayeri, the sales manager of the knowledge-based company.
“The chemicals produced by our company are in the categories of solvents, acids, bases, salts, alcohols, metals and metal oxides, absorbents, indicators, titrants, pH buffer solutions, oxidants and reducers, disinfectants and disinfectants, and organic materials,” he added.
Malayeri explained that among the applications of these materials are in quality control laboratories and research and development of various industries, medical diagnostic laboratories, forensic medicine, manufacturing of medical kits, and drug production.
“At present, our focus is on supplying the domestic market, but with the aim of improving the quality of materials, the company is also seeking access to foreign markets,” he added.
An Iranian expert had said in September that nearly 2,500 laboratories across Iran were members of the strategic technologies laboratory network of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.
“The laboratory network was established in 2004 under the supervision of the Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council upon an order by the then vice-president for science and technology,” Mohammad Zomorrodi, an expert of the laboratory network of strategic technologies of Iran, told ANA.
Noting that Iranian researchers were facing many problems to find the equipment they needed in the province where they worked or studied before the establishment of the network, he said, “Not all universities can have FESEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), so the laboratory network has made it possible to search for the needed equipment and possibilities.”
“At present, nearly 2,500 laboratories across the country are members of this network. Of this amount, 1,800 laboratory centers are definite members of this network,” Zomorrodi said.
