Malaysia's Manufacturing Sales Up 6.5 Percent in Q3
TEHRAN (ANA)- Malaysia's manufacturing sales rose 6.5 percent year-on-year to 483.2 billion ringgit (110.28 billion U.S. dollars) in the third quarter, official data showed.
The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement that the increase was primarily attributable to the food, beverages and tobacco sub-sector which grew 12.3 percent and electrical and electronics products sub-sectors that increased 8.1 percent.
Meanwhile, manufacturing sector sales value was registered at 162.3 billion ringgit, rising 2.9 percent year-on-year in September. The rise was primarily driven by the electrical and electronics products sub-sector which grew 5.8 percent.
Throughout the first nine months this year, the sales value of the manufacturing sector reached 1.41 trillion ringgit which increased 4.6 percent year-on-year.
