Iran, S. Korea to Develop ICT Cooperation

TEHRAN (ANA)- High-ranking Iranian and South Korean officials in a meeting in Seoul explored avenues to further expand cooperation between the two Asian states in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

The ICT meeting was held between Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour and South Korea's Minister of Science and Communications Lee Jong-ho.

Zarepour visited Seoul at the invitation of his Korean counterpart to attend the Asia-Pacific Digital Ministerial Conference 2022.

He pointed to the Iranian government’s policy of developing relations with various states, and underlined Iran’s readiness to expand ties with South Korea, particularly in the field of ICT.

Zarepour referred to South Korea’s progress in the ICT and the development of domestic platforms in the country, noting Iran, like South Korea, seeks to maximize the capacities of new communication technologies to facilitate life for its people.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to pursue the formation of a joint working group to develop the two countries’ relations in the ICT field.
