“In accordance with the standards, we classify honey and introduce a producer who produces high-quality products so that the customer can make the right choice,” director of Tabriz Kashef Shimi company Mostafa Honari told ANA correspondent on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Exhibition held by the Islamic Azad University.

Honari said that branding honey and analyzing it, is what his company does.

He stated that there is no special criteria for assessing the honey produced in Iran adding, “There is no measure for high-quality and low-quality honey in Iran, and only based on the information the people traditionally give a high-quality honey is distinguished from the low-quality while such a thing is not common in the world."

The director of Tabriz Kashif Shimi said the company is centered at Islamic Azad University -Khoy branch in West Azarbaijan Province and reiterated that the price of the honey is determined by their quality, therefore, the price of each product depends on its quality.

Honari added that the different products are presented at an online store, so that ultimately the producer will have to try to improve the quality of their product in order to be able to export it.

He continued to point out that the neighboring countries are good destinations for the exported honey.

He also noted that Turkey re-export the Iranian-made products to other markets under its own name because there are not standards to adopt the quality of the honey products with.

"We should create a link between the producers by creating a center,” Honari said, adding the center would help an increase in scientific work on honey production and also the quality of the products.

“A unified trademark under the name of “Iran honey” have to be introduced so that we can use that brand for export, and our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of products and lay the ground for a boost in exports,” director of Tabriz Kashif Shimi said.

The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
