Iranian Company Producing Grease, Lubricant for Many Industrial Purposes
Azam Hassanzadeh, the CEO of Quchan Fanavar Almas manufacturing unit said on the sidelines of Age of Hope exhibition (Asreh Omid Evnet) that she and her teammates at Fanavar Almas company at the Islamic Azad University (IAU)-Quchan branch have designed and manufactured special and complicated industrial greases and lubricants.
“We started our research activity in 2016. The incentive for this activity came from the fact that we were working for a Chinese holding company that imported special greases. Then we came up with the idea why should not we produce it ourselves? So we started research on that,” Hassanzadeh said.
She added that she is a graduate in chemical engineering, adding that she and her teammates started a pilot workshop on campus of Azad University in 2018.
She said that shortly after the launch of their workshop, different figures including the president of Islamic Azad University Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and other educational and industrial authorities visited the company.
“In fact, we started production of grease at our manufacturing unit in 2018. Our work is research on special and complicated types of imported grease and now the production and sale of our own grease has begun.”
“Due to the diversity of grease and the many usages of the product, we provide production and formulating advice to the companies that produce this product. Because there are different types of grease and greases, each of which is used for a specific purpose according to its use and device it is used for in different temperature and pressure degree,” the CEO of QuchanFanavar Almas manufacturing unit said.
The IAU researcher further explained about their products and said, “The greases that we have formulated so far are among the greases that are used for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) which consume tons of grease on a daily basis. In fact, most of these special greases were used to be imported, but we found out that we could produce similar types inside the country via reverse engineering and market them in local and regional markets.”
Hassanzadeh went on to say that the greases are formulated and produced and sent to the laboratories to receive their approval, and if they meet the standards, they will be tested for use, and then if they are approved by the operator, they will be used and sold.
“Our current production capacity is about 300 kilos per day,” QuchanFanavar Almas company CEO said, voicing hope that they will attract investors at the Age of Hope exhibition to turn their small workshop into a large industrial unit whose work is the production and design of special and complicated types of greases and lubricants.
She further pointed out that the launch of the manufacturing unit will create jobs for 25 people.
Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 01, 2022 to exhibit new achievements, equipments and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
