Official: Iran Exports 50 Million Dollars of Handwoven Carpets in One Year
Abdollah Bahrami, the managing director of the National Union of Handwoven Carpet Cooperatives of Iran, described the handwoven carpet as a strategic good, and said the country exported $50mln worth of handwoven carpets last year.
The head of the Iran National Carpet Center (INCC) said in 2023 that the government had eased its rules on exports of handwoven carpets amid efforts to generate more hard currency revenues from the sector.
The 16th International Carpet Expo 2024 is due to be held at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds from November 13 to 16, 2024.
It is one of the most important international events in the field of carpets, moquettes, and related industries in Iran.
This exhibition’s objective is to provide the participants and exhibitors with information on the latest developments of Iran’s carpet and moquette producers and provide a chance for business relationships between domestic and international businesses and market players.
