Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Supplies Laboratory Optical Equipment to IPhO 2024
The 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2024) was held with the participation of 200 talented students from 47 countries from July 21 to 28, 2024 at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) in Isfahan, Iran.
According to a report by the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the knowledge-based company that was founded by a group of inventors operating in the field of science education was the firm that supplied the laboratory optical equipment to IPhO 2024.
In fact, the practical section of the IPhO 2024 was held with the optical laboratory devices designed, produced and supplied by Iranian the knowledge-based company.
Promoting attractive, enjoyable and effective teaching of science and technology in educational centers, especially schools, through the development of teaching methods based on experiment and observation, and the design and production of laboratory and educational tools of experimental science were among the goals the founders of the company had in producing the laboratory equipment.
The high quality of the devices and the innovative ideas used in making them by the Iranian knowledge-based technologists were praised by the participants and organizers, whereby some participating countries voiced their interest in purchasing those devices and were seeking to use them in their educational centers.
Iranian physics student team finished fourth with one gold medal and four silver medals at the Olympiad.
The Chinese students came first with five gold medals, followed by the Russian team with four gold medals and one silver medal and Romania with three gold medals and two silver medals, in second and third places, respectively.
