IRICA: Transit of Goods Through Iran Hits 7.6 Million Tons

TEHRAN (ANA)- The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has said that the transit of goods via Iran in the first four months of this year of 1403 in the calendar (March 21-July 21, 2024) was 7.6 million tons, indicating 58.5% increase compared to last year.

Tamarchin border crossing in Piranshahr County in West Azarbaijan Province, recorded the highest increase as compared to last year in transit of goods among other Iranian border crossings in that four-month period, the IRICA said.

The IRICA added that the customs of foreign transit through Sarkhs, Parviz Khan and Bashmaq border crossings, showing 286%, 197% and 111% increases, respectively during the first four months.

Parvizkhan border crossing customs in Kermanshah Province in west Iran recorded the highest volume of transit in the four months of 1403, the IRICA figures showed.

During that period, 2, 166,000 tons of goods were transited through Parvizkhan customs, while Shahid Rajaee, Bashmaq, Bazargan and Piranshahr customs were in the next places.
