The Implementation of the plan kicked off in a ceremony attended by the National Iranian Oil Company’s (NIOC) managing director, Mohsen Khojastemehr, and a number of other Petroleum Ministry managers through videoconferening on June 12.

The plan consists of drilling 24 oil wells including 12 developmental wells in each of Fahlan and Sarvak layers with a $350 million investment aimed at maintaining and increasing oil production by 42,000 bpd.

Earlier in May, when Iran Oil Show 2024 was underway in Tehran, the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), on behalf of NIOC, signed separate contracts with the National Drilling Oil Company (NIDC), the Qeshm Oil and Energy Industry Development Company (OEID) and Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarter (KAA) for drilling 24 oil wells in Yadavaran oil field.

PEDEC has already built access roads and provided cellars (places required for drilling wells) and other data-x-items for installation of drilling rigs with the aim of speeding up the operations.

Yadavaran is one of the largest oil fields Iran shared with its neighboring countries. The oil filed is located 70 kilometers southwest Ahwaz, the capital of southwest province of Khuzestan near the shared border with neighboring Iraq.
