Iran Inaugurates Reference Lab for Evaluation of Nano-Based Agricultural Products
During the ceremony, in addition to inauguration of the reference laboratory of nano-based agricultural products, a number of technological products jointly made by the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute and 12 knowledge-based companies were also introduced.
Addressing the ceremony, Nikbakht said that the opening ceremony of this laboratory has been constructed to achieve knowledge-based agriculture and uniform and sustainable production, conducting research, providing proper training to operators and promoting the use of new technologies.
Also, Mohsen Mardi, the senior advisor of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization and the head of the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute, said, “The laboratory was developed in line with the expansion of using nanotechnology in agricultural products with the approval of the Nano Technology Strategic Committee of the Agriculture Ministry to issue certificates of approval for the nano products.”
Iranian knowledge-based companies active in the field of nanotechnology have so far manufactured and presented several products for application in the agricultural fields.
In a relevant development in April, the managing director of an Iranian knowledge-based company active in the field of nanotechnology said that the company’s experts had applied a nanobubble system for the agricultural and aquatic industries.
“We produce and commercialize the nanobubble system which settles one of the most important challenges of industries involved with gas and fluids. Some industries deal with mixing gas in liquids, for which the nanobubble system can be a solution,” said Aref Dadgostar.
He explained that in the field of agriculture, the company’s focus is on greenhouse irrigation, where they can increase the amount of oxygen in the irrigation water with the nanobubble system which improves the root structure, adding that the absorption of nutrients by the root is higher with this method and the plant will grow more efficiently quantitatively and qualitatively.
“In the aquatic sector, we can inject oxygen into water with the highest efficiency with this system and distribute oxygen throughout the pool; therefore, the fish do not have the stress of absorbing oxygen in the water and have a better life in the pool which will increase the production three times,” Dadgostar said.
