Iranian Shipping Lines Company Overhauling 13 Ships in 1 Yard Simultaneously
Currently, 13 vessels are being repaired at the yard of the company by domestic engineers using the high capacities and potentials that exist in the country, the CEO said.
“The repairment of different types of vessels of IRISL has been done entirely in this group using the available domestic capabilities. The ships do not need to be sent overseas for repairment,” he said.
Periodical repairment and maintenance services of the vessels of the company have prevented capital flight from the country, he said, predicting that at least 50 vessels in different variants will be repaired inside of the country in the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20, 2024).
“Seven of the vessels, which are under repaiment operation, belong to the IRISL and six others belong to the private sector and are undergoing various stages of repair,” the CEO said.
“Currently, a floating dock measuring 20 x 42 meters with a nominal lifting capacity of 28,000 tons along with a synchrolift (shiplift system) measuring 170 x 32 meters and with a nominal lifting capacity of 11,000 tons are operating in this yard,” he continued.
