Iranian Researcher Develops Program to Help Women Get over Depression, Stress
Speaking to ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid scientific and technological exhibition held by Islamic Azad University (IAU), Mahboubeh Moradi said she has a MA in clinical psychology and has developed a program that helps women to get over their anxiety and depression.
She said that the name of her educational program is “Motherboon” or “Mother Care,” explaining, “We held the clinical trial of this program in Sirjan, where she comes from, with pre-test and post-test. These courses’ results showed that up to 50% had a positive effect in terms of reducing women's anxiety and depression. Then, we came with the idea that it would be good to be able to provide this product in a different and broader way to more people.”
Moradi said that she participated in the Asreh Oimd event hoping that she could attract investment and support for the women's mental health program in order to turn it to a more sophisticated program.
“The best that could happen was design in the form of a program. Now the content and research part of the work is done. My thesis at university was also related to the design of women's mental health model and only the stage of creating the program remains. We are looking for someone to work as a start-up or an investment to help us gain necessary capital in the national Asreh Omid event,” she said.
“We have come to Asreh Omid event held by the Islamic Azad University to see other research groups and other ideas and to become familiarize with different people who are trying to develop an idea and bring it to fruition. We are here to hear their efforts and failures and get to know them. This national event is not the beginning of an end. I hope it will continue and come out of the form of a mere exhibition and those who participated in it will return to their cities with good achievements.”
The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
