Iran’s AEOI to Help Oil Ministry to Improve Quality of Products

TEHRAN (ANA)- The Iranian Oil Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in a ceremony signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to increase cooperation in different fields, including application of nuclear technology to improve quality of oil products.

“We make efforts to take advantage of the overflow of technologies obtained in the country's nuclear industry to increase the quality of oil products,” said Deputy Oil Minister for Engineering and Research Vahidreza Zeidifar on the sidelines of the ceremony.

The document was signed by AEOI’s Deputy for Strategic Planning and Supervision Mohammad Qannadi Maraqe and  Zeidifar on behalf of the Oil Ministry. 

Based on the 10-article deal, the two sides will cooperate on a variety of issues including the realization of general policies of the Islamic establishment, going ahead with the resistance economy policies, meeting mutual needs, and boosting the technological capabilities of the country.

It also covers issues like cooperation in doing research and deployment of new nuclear technologies like using rays in oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical sectors and facilitating providing services and products.

Implementation of resistance economy policies, development of technological cooperation network with the aim of synergy and avoiding parallel work by supporting knowledge-based companies and start-ups, cooperation in the field of research management, technology development, monitoring, implementation and investment for a set of projects related to nuclear, radiation and new applications. Cooperation and participation in the field of formulation, updating and implementation of the requirements, specialized standards of the oil industry are among the other goals of this memorandum.

The two sides also reached an agreement to establish a strategic committee, comprising the two sides' representatives, to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of the MoU’s contents and take other necessary steps about the enforcement of the document.
