“In addition to production of LED cold light source and cold light cords based on the international standards, our company produces video laryngoscope devices and seeks to meet other needs of the country's medical equipment industry,” said Mehran Mohammadi Jozadani, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

He added that the cold light cord is a special cable for transmitting light from the cold light source to the patient's body, which is made of flexible glass fibers called optical fibers.

“These strands of fibers enjoy the capability to transmit light and bend it with the least amount of wastage which causes the light and heat from the cold source device to be transferred to the patient's body through a winding distance and illuminate the path of the camera mounted at the top of the device,” Mohammadi Jozadani said.

“With the help of this light and camera, physicians can access the internal images of the patient's body and perform microsurgery or diagnosis correctly,” he added.

Laparoscopic surgery is a surgical technique in which short, narrow tubes (trochars) are inserted into the abdomen through small (less than one centimeter) incisions.

Through these trochars, long, narrow instruments are inserted. The surgeon uses these instruments to manipulate, cut, and sew tissue.
