Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of "Made in Iran" Exhibition, Heidar Mohammadi, the chairman of IFDA said that his organization supports knowledge-based companies, adding, "The law on the supporting knowledge-based companies has taken into account different ways to do its main mission."

“One of the main priorities of the IFDA is to issue licenses to knowledge-based companies and support domestic products. Meanwhile, buying knowledge-based and Iran-made products are one of our priorities,” he said.

“Laboratory analytical equipment are devices and equipment that are used to analyze and determine the amount of substances in the laboratory.”

“Many of these equipment are not allowed to be registered in Iran, therefore, the production of such equipment in the country can be effective in strengthening and improving the diagnostic methods of IFDA in the field of food and pharmaceutical diagnostics in the health sector,” the official said.

“Fortunately, some of these laboratory equipment are produced through the efforts of domestic experts, which can help in the development of measuring devices of this organization in the universities of medical sciences and IFDA laboratories,” Mohammadi said.

"Now we have a laboratory network in the country, which includes more than 60 laboratories related to the field of food and medicine, while 500 laboratories are under the supervision of the Food and Drug Organization, which are licensed to analyze pharmaceutical and food products," he went on to say.

“We inform these bodies (that have labs) about the achievements of technological companies in the field of laboratory equipment so that they can use the huge potential and capabilities of domestic producers to equip their labs. Moreover, in this year's fiscal budget, an increase in the earmarked budget for the purchase of domestic and knowledge-based data-x-items has been proposed,”Mohammadi concluded.

"Made in Iran" Exhibition was held at Tehran International Fairground on January 2-5, 2024.
