Making Different Products from Olives by Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm
Speaking to ANA correspondent while displaying their products at the Asreh Omid Event held by the Islamic Azad University (IAU) in Tehran in May, Zahra Ebrahimi said that she is from IAU-Tarom branch in Zanjan province presenting different products produced from olives.
Ebrahimi, who was representing Tarom Barge Sabz knowledge-based company, said that they grow olives in farms in Tarom county making canned olives, cracked olives, brined olives and olive oil.
She added that their company seeks to produce canned black olives, explaining that growing back olives in Iran is not very common.
The researcher, who has a Ph.D. in accounting and is a faculty member of Tarom Islamic Azad University, called for support from the government official to produce back olives.
Ebrahimi stated that the preparation of canned black olives is a little different from normal olives and also said, “We can make tea from olive leaves. Olive tea leaf is very useful for decreasing blood cholesterol and has anti-cancer properties, it is also very useful for reducing blood sugar and diabetes."
“Making green olives into black olives needs a bit more work so that the olives are not crushed by the ingredients used in them,” the representative of Tarom knowledge-based company added.
The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
