Iranian Researcher Makes 2 New Devices for Disinfecting Wastewater, Air
Saeed Parhoodeh, who is the head of scientific research center at Islamic Azad University-Shiraz Branch, told ANA correspondent on the sidelines of the “Age of Hope” (Asreh Omid Event) scientific exhibition held by the Islamic Azad University that he and his teammates have made two devices, an air purifier and wastewater disinfectant with ultraviolet rays.
He explained that the air cleaning and disinfection device which works with ultraviolet radiation cleans the air of pollution by sucking in the air and shining the ultraviolet on it and then it destroys microorganisms (such as bacteria, viruses, etc.).
He said that the device also breaks apart unpleasant chemical molecules in the air, adding that this device has a protective shield to prevent ultraviolet radiation from coming out of the device.
The IAU researcher further said they have signed a contract with Astana Ashrafieh Municipality to install a treatment device to disinfect the city’s wastewater.
The researcher said that the wastewater treatment device uses ECF method and disinfects wastewater with a capacity of 20 cubic meters per 24 hours at the site for the time being.
Parhoodeh said that the contract generates good income for IAU -Shiraz branch.
Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 01, 2022 to exhibit new achievements, equipments and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
