Iranian Industries Ready to Use Home-Made Autonomous Mobile Robot
“The Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) is widely used in various industries, specially in warehousing, maintenance and moving parts, medical industries, hospitals and other cases,” Elyas Nateq, the computer architecture student, told ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Event in Tehran.
“The robot receives information about the desired location from the central software fully automatically and it navigates, and carries out its mission after arrival at the location,” he added.
Nateq noted that the price of foreign models of the AMR robot is about $40,000, adding that the Iran-made sample has been produced at a quarter of the price of the foreign model.
“We have started negotiations with different organizations to launch a production line to sell the product in the market. Necessary talks have been held with certain industries and some contracts have been signed with a number of them, and it has been used in car parts storage warehouses of car parts, chemical warehouses and the warehouses where the presence of forklifts or humans is not possible,” he added.
an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) is any robot that can understand and move through its environment without being overseen directly by an operator or on a fixed predetermined path.
AMRs have an array of sophisticated sensors that enable them to understand and interpret their environment, which helps them to perform their task in the most efficient manner and path possible, navigating around fixed obstructions (building, racks, work stations, etc.) and variable obstructions (such as people, lift trucks, and debris).
Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 1, 2022.
The event aimed to exhibit new achievements and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
Some 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research centers, and startups took part in Asreh Omid Event.
