Turkish Airlines in Negotiations with Airbus to Purchase 355 Aircraft
TEHRAN (ANA)- Turkiye's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that negotiations have been going on with Airbus for the purchase of 355 aircraft.
THY said in a statement that negotiations are underway with Airbus regarding the purchase of 240 aircraft, and possibly 115 additional ones, all of which will be delivered between 2026 and 2036.
"After the Board of Directors approves the purchase, the necessary notification will be shared with the public," THY added, noting that the purchase would be in line with the company's growth targets under its strategic plan for the next 10 years.
According to the state-run Anadolu agency, THY and Airbus officials met on Nov. 11 in Istanbul to discuss the details of the purchase.
THY currently has 435 aircraft in its fleet.
