First Solar Power Plant in Iran's Southeast Becomes Operational
According to the news service of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, Ghurban Ali Mardani, the director of NIOPDC office in the Zahedan District announced the operationalization of first solar power plant and said, “This power plant has been put into operation in the compound of the headquarters of this district with the cooperation of the planning and engineering services unit of the district, with a power of 15 kilowatts and a budget of almost $10,000.”
“ The electricity of this power plant was produced in order to partially meet the need for the electricity in that district and to reduce electricity consumption costs by using green energy and also in line with the aim of development of renewable energy,” he added.
The director of NIOPDC office in the Zahedan District stated that the purpose of setting up this power plant and similar power plants in the country is to help provide clean energy sources, reduce fossil fuel consumption, reduce environmental pollution, reduce energy losses at the transmission and distribution levels, and help diversify resources in line with the overall goal of sustainable development and accordance with passive defense standards.”
